Shaali was created out of the need to customize the domestic environment. During the day the scarf is worn around the neck or over the shoulders. When coming home the scarf can be placed on a stand or hanger where it becomes a light in the interior.

Bringing clothes into the interior and letting them be part of it rather than being disturbing items you have to put in closets.

After an exploration of technical possibilities in the field of wearable electronics and smart materials a prototype was made.

Shaali is made of conductive fabrics with power led's to create enough light. Keeping the comfort of of wearing a scarf was of majour importance when developing Shaali.
