Waiting for the sun to set was the starting point for this new interaction concept on the beach. In the project iterative research cycles were combined with model making and context mapping.

Different panels are moving slowly, almost invisble if you just pass it.

But when you stop and have a closer look, you can see that all the panels have little holes in it. These little holes can be filled with sand and people can make a drawing with the sand. Because the panel never stops moving the sand will eventually fall out by gravity, if the wind has not already taken it.

Shadows change during the day, marking the timeand moment people made the drawing as well as the time they were on the beach.

A new interaction concept had to be developed. Through research the expereince of people when "waiting for the sun to set" an interaction vision was created. Out of this vision the interaction concept and design evolved.
